I purchased a Cuisine Art citrus juicer at Bed Bath and Beyond for $30 after using my mom's Braun while in Germany daily. Her Braun is still running like new after at least 35 years! The minute I tried to squeeze an orange I hated the Cuisine Art. It made loud grinding sounds, and stopped when reversing the rotation grinding even more. Then I went on Amazon and read reviews about the different juicers- I know- usually I read reviews before buying things! Looking at all the juicers including the Swiss cool looking Bodum- they were all made in China. The fact that the Waring Pro was mostly made in the US and had good reviews is what made me decide for this one. So far I like it. It seems sturdy and quiet- I don't need the reverse speed, and have been making at least 3 cups of orange juice with it daily. What could be improved on is that there is no cover- I always put a plastic bag over the top to keep it from gathering any dust when put away, and I wish the rod that turns the top was made from metal. But there is a five year factory warranty on it and I registered it right away. But I have to also admit that I would have not bought it for the original $175. I bought it for around $80 at Mrs.Cooks on sale.
And my mom's old Braun is still my favorite!!!

This juicer is certainly better then the slow B&D mini we used for last year's 4 Billion lemons. However, I'm disappointed in the cheap plastic basket and reemer and the overall cheap feel. The basket is quite restrictive, so it collects all the pulp. I wish there were two baskets included so we could increase the pulp level if we wanted. Having said that, it suffices and I think it offers the best value/performance ratio on the market.

While this juicer does clean up nicely there are some design issues that I did not like. I purchased this to do grapefruits easily. They are a mess. The larger basket is great for containing the grapefruit but the extractor head is the same size as other juicers which now means your fingers keep hitting the sides of the basket. The basket has about 1/2" rotation so you have to hold this in place while holding the fruit in the other hand. Also the inner basket allows for seeds and extra pulp to flow into the glass. Lastly, the spout is fixed. For the price this should be adjustable to be able to remove the glass to prevent drippage.

I intended to use this to replace my Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro Juicer ($25.00 and great warranty) as the product info stated it did grapefruit easily. I returned this juicer and am still very happy with my CCJ-100!
