This little machine can do a LOT. At first, I was worried because of some of the bad reviews on this machine, but I am pleased with the performance and quality of the drinks that this thing makes. No, you can't use your own coffee in this coffee maker, which is a bit of a let down I will say that. BUT, Nescafe makes a "house brew" coffee capsule which is kinda like Foldgers breakfast blend. A lot of the capsules available for this machine are "specialty" coffees, and (doing the math) cost about $2 for a 16oz drink; that is, using two capsules for one drink instead of one. (The capsules only make about an 8oz drink). All in all this is a good gift for a college kid, or someone who is definitely not a coffee snob :) perfect for someone with limited time (coffee takes literally 30 seconds to brew!). I love this thing :)

We visited friends in France for a few weeks and fell in love with this coffee maker. We were so glad to be able to find it when we got back. Friends had both this and the other K machine at their bed and breakfast and prefer this one, both for taste and ease of use, so we were glad to have the opportunity to do our own test as well. This won, hands down. This brand is not marketed nearly as well in the US as the other K machine. I've only seen the pods in one store in the US (although readily available in rural supermarkets in France!), but I'm happy to plan ahead and order online as the price is so much better anyway. I think the pods for this machine are a little less expensive than the others but we'd have bought it anyway.
Taste is wonderful and it's sooo quick and easy to use. We love the small footprint of this machine- the other brands are monsters. Lightweight and easy to put away, but it's small enough that we leave it out. Krups has another that is basically the same machine as this but with a larger tank, but we only make 2-3 cups/day so this meets our needs just fine. We tend to be neurotic about leaving water since we once had a machine get slimy/moldy from the water inside when we didn't use it for a while. I think it's cleaner not to leave a tank full of water sitting for days anyway so we take it off and let it dry most nights. Tank is quite easy to remove and refill and takes very little space on my dishrack.
Before kids we were aspiring coffee snobs so we have a "real" espresso machine as well. But as a busy mom, I just don't have the time to grind, measure, tamp, brew, rinse, clean up debris, etc to get it just right before heading out the door. This machine is so fast and taste is wonderful, really much better than my Gaggia. The power of the machine shuts itself off after ~5 minutes, so that's a nice safety feature as well. It's great to be able to make a weak or strong cup of coffee too by brewing longer or shorter. One (very small) downside is that if I were to space and step away while brewing (kids, phone) and forget to stop it, it would keep going, overflowing the cup (another upside to small tank!). But since it literally takes only a few seconds to brew, this is not such a big deal and after a month it hasn't happened yet.

I like my espresso drinks. I wouldn't say I am an expert but I have at least one mocha (whole milk, half choc) daily from Kaldis, Starbucks or my new thing is making it on my office DeLonghi 32Bar Pump Espresso machine.
I was hoping this would do for home and get me out of the clean-up.
It requires no set-up other than running water through the machine (hot and cold settings)
The capsules are easy to insert and the directions very straight forward. The machine heats up super fast and there really is no clean up - you just dump the capsule out. There is a drip tray to clean up from time to time.
As other reviewers mentioned, this machine is unique in that you control how much water is added so you have control over the strength or weakness of the drink - one of the reasons I chose to try it.
Sadly, the cappuccino is reminiscent of coffee creamer. And, having just gone through two pounds of Starbucks espresso and Kaldis espresso, I can say with certainty that the Cafe Lungo tasted like real, but stale, espresso. The choccoccino tastes pretty good, not over sweet, but a little weak when following the directions.
As the point of this operation is the final product - the espresso drink - I have rate this very poorly and say despite the easy, cute machine with super fast clean-up, the overall product is not for those who enjoy their espresso drinks and can tell the difference between a good espresso and one that doesn't make the grade. :(
