I purchased this unit to supplement my frig's ice maker. I thought it would be really good especially on the weekends with guests and visitors to the pool. When it arrived , I cleaned it out per the instructions and hooked it, but the ice tasted awful even after running it for a couple of days, so I took it apart and cleaned it again and rinsed it out with baking soda and that did the trick. It makes ice pretty quickly and fills up the basket fast. My only complaints are the ice cubes, even on "large", are kind of small and hollow which makes them melt quickly and they are "wet" so if you put them in your freezer into a container or bag, they get all stuck together unlike the cubes from your frig's ice maker which come out "dry" and don't stick together. However, for using directly in drinks,pitchers,blenders or even a cooler, they're great and convenient. I haven't run out ice since !! Overall, I'm satisfied with the unit.

I read the reviews, was a concerned because there were many negatives, but the positive (probably paid) reviews tricked me. I fell for it, and at first I was happy, but about 120 days into my portable ice experience, things went to Hell.
I was offer the parts to repair it for $33. sounded OK, to me. The parts arrived they are wrong parts. PC board for the wrong model. I called and they said to go to their website and fill out the RMA form and get an RMA number and return the board for the correct board. I filled out the form, and got an email telling me to let them contact their warehouse and find out what was going on. That's where it ended. I have not heard from them since and when I call, I get transferred then put on hold.
I have filed a claim with PayPal. Thank the good Lord for PayPal. I hope they work this time.
Hindsight says tell people who read the reviews stay away.

PRO: the ice machine works great. I got it sent out to me from the GOOD OLD USA to Afghanistan where the temperatures hit an average temp of 105 degrees daily. Lack of ice for me is never a problem. Does not take up a lot of room. Really like the ice maker.
