I recently bought the KitchenAid Professional 600 series 6-quart mixer which I love by the way. I have not mixed any bread, only cakes and the only thing I would change about it is the space between the paddle and the bowl. Disconnecting the paddle and trying to remove batter off the paddle is a challenge but the bowl allows me to double my recipe with ease. I use it everyday and would recommend it to anyone.

The spindle in the "planetary" fell apart and the mechanism holding the attachments fell off. This is a design defect, and/or defect in the actual part. To replace the part and repair the mixer will cost approximately $100. Kitchenaid will not replace the part. I have had the mixer for a little over 3 years. I had expected that it would last much longer....
