After we finally received the Verizon 1.9 software upgrade, I was anxious to install an external hard drive. I initially tried a 6TB WD MyBook II without any success[...]. I thought that perhaps Verizon was 'suggesting' WD, it would have worked. No such luck.

Well, safe to say, THIS 2TB version works just FINE with my FIOS DVR! The drive is very small and very quiet. I'm so glad to have broken the pathetic '120G' internal hard drive limitation. A MUST BUY for anyone expanding their DVR!

I bought this ESATA 3TB hard drive to hook up to my Fios DVR. I opened the box, connected the eSata wire to the back of the Fios DVR, connected the other end to the hard drive. I connected the power cable, plugged into the wall. Turned on my TV and DVR. Hit the DVR button, then "Enable more Hard Drive space" and "wallah" the Fios Motorola DVR recognized this Iomega hard drive. I know have the ability to record 420 hours of HD television!

If you go to the Fios website, it will recommend you buy a Western Digital eSata drive and they are on back order for 1-2 months... Buy this one, it works 1,2,3. !! Good luck, happy recording...

I've had this drive for a little over a year and I haven't had any problems with it. It was simple to set up to use with my Cablevision DVR (just plugged it into the DVR). The DVR recognized it and it has worked flawlessly.
